Our Staff
MARY SMITH
Director
Mary has been a teacher at Bright Days Preschool since the fall of 2002, and became Director in 2007. Mary joined the Bright Days Community in 1995 with the enrollment of her first child. All four of her children have since graduated from Bright Days. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Santa Clara University, an Associate of Science in Early Childhood from West Valley College, as well as her Child Development Director Permit.
LAURA
Twos Teacher (M- F)
Laura began teaching at Bright Days in the Fall of 2015. Laura was introduced to Bright Days as her niece and nephews attended the program. After working in retail management for twelve years, Laura followed her passion of working with young children to complete her early childhood schooling and join the Bright Days staff. Laura earned her Early Childhood units at Foothill College.
AMANDA
Multi Age Teacher (M-F)
Amanda began working at Bright Days in January 2019. She has been a parent at Bright Days since her son started in the 2's class in 2017. Prior to coming to teach at Bright Days Amanda has worked as a Nanny and in child care centers since 2009. After taking a couple of years off from working to start her family she is excited to be working as a teacher's aid while working to complete her early childhood education program.
MORGAN
Multi Age Teacher (M-F)
Morgan taught preschool for several years before joining the Bright Days team in August 2020. Prior to starting her career in education, she primarily worked in administrative roles but felt herself craving a greater sense of meaning and higher purpose. After returning to college, she began working as a teacher’s aide at a preschool, fell in love with positively impacting the lives of children, and has been passionate about nurturing their love of learning ever since. She earned her early childhood education units at De Anza College and is currently finishing an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education.
Carol
Multi Age Teacher (M-F)
Carol has been working with children since 2018 and has been a preschool teacher for three years. She is working on her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and has a passion for teaching! When she is not in the classroom she enjoys cooking/baking, weekend trips to Disneyland and traveling.
WENDY
YBK Teacher (M-F)
Wendy began working at Bright Days in the Fall of 2010. Prior to joining the Bright Days team Wendy taught English in Spain and Italy and also worked as a Museum Educator for the city of Campbell. Wendy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from Cal State Fullerton and earned her Early Childhood Education units from West Valley, as well as her Child Development Associate Teacher Permit.
AMY
YBK Teacher (M-F)
Amy began teaching at Bright Days in the Spring of 2010. Both of her children attended Bright Days Preschool, which led her to fall in love with the program and want to be a part of educating young children within its philosophy. Through her life experiences, Amy has gained a passion for supporting and advocating for the educational needs of children with learning delays. Amy studied Child Development at San Jose State and De Anza College, and holds a Child Development Teacher Permit.
Rachel
YBK (MWF) Multi Age (T/TH)
Rachel previously worked as an administrative assistant, but in 2011 discovered she had a passion for teaching young children. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to join the Bright Days teaching staff. She greatly enjoys supporting and helping children and being part of their journey. Rachel is completing her childcare units at Mission and West Valley College. Her favorite things to do are hang out with friends and family, sing, and go on dates with her husband of four years.
